Abstract

One of the reasons for this topic is that Imam Ibn Jarir, may God have mercy on him, when he included the readings in his tafsir, mentioned anomalous readings without declaring their anomalies, in several places, and it was also noticed that he did not control the percentage of reading for the companions in some places, so it decreased in his percentage for some of the readings that he mentioned, and it increased In some of them, and sometimes it is sufficient to attribute it to the expressions to which the reader belongs. The importance of this topic is that the researchers will analyze the readings contained in Al-Tabari's Tafsir by tracing the readings that Abu Jaafar mentioned in this tafsir, we find him often speaking about the frequent readings and being exposed to them either by favoring some of them over some or by judging them as correct over others, and his response to the frequent readings in some places, and because the readings are conditional and that it is not permissible. Exposure to it by correcting one another, not by favoring it over others, or by dismissing it with any argument. Because the frequent recitations are from God, then the two researchers will explain the methods that al-Tabari used in presenting the readings in his tafsir, as well as explaining the criteria that Ibn Jarir set in judging the recitation. And that is by following him in what he mentioned of readings in his tafsir, spoiled by some examples, to reach the reader to the goal, and to clarify and clear the method that the author followed when listing the readings in his tafsir, and to know his position on these readings and to identify the reasons that made him prefer the readings and prefer some of them to others, asking God The Almighty is sincerity, success and benefit, and God knows best, is the highest and the wisest.
